
I saw you and felt that endless pain, that ache
That, though I could reach, I could not touch, you'd break
I crept past on tiptoe and no sound did I make
But you felt the thunder of my heart's quake
and shattered, like a rose from a frozen lake.
A lot of modern poetry is too hard to understand,
it has become too complicated for the uninitiated or casual reader.
