All men are equal in the eyes of the law
which ignores one pertinent fact.
That everyone's different, not equal at all

If you're clever or pretty then you will succeed
If you're bestest at something you'll win.
Whether poet or pugilist, flower or weed
real life is the contest you're in.
But winning or losing's no absolute state
it depends on your own point of view.

getting one past the keeper will do.
