A lot of modern poetry is too hard to understand,
it has become too complicated for the uninitiated or casual reader.
These poems are by an ordinary bloke, for ordinary folk. © Chris Daws

Believe
Hills that rise beyond the tree line
Heights that steal the air you breath
Slopes that drop into the valleys
Mountain mist blows in the breeze
Push your self beyond your limits
Heart it is that gets you through
Win the race against surrender
show yourself that you are true . Believe
Though the day is long and weary
you must keep on keeping on
put one foot before the other
soon the dreary miles are done
Push your self beyond your limits
Heart it is that gets you through
Win the race against surrender
show yourself that you are true . Believe
At the end comes peace and pleasure
rest awhile in memory
Look back on the miles you've travelled
taste the glow of victory
Push your self beyond your limits
Heart it is that gets you through
Win the race against surrender
show yourself that you are true . Believe.
